About Us | Wakefield-Reading Y

Since 1923, the Wakefield-Reading Y Service Club has been an active member of the community. Our all-volunteer organization raises and distributes money to support children and families locally. Click here to see some of our activities.

As the oldest operating club in the US within our parent organization, Y's Men International, we also provide a small amount of support to their programs worldwide to contribute in a small way to solving some of the world's problems.

Our close affiliation with the Burbank YMCA (Reading) and the former Wakefield YMCA makes us one of the largest individual contributors to programs that they manage, and we help make it possible for children and families to receive services at no cost or a reduced cost. Our efforts help provides access to health & fitness, sport, swimming and wellness programs, childcare services, and YMCA camp programs.

Like other worldwide charitable organizations, we hold monthly meetings of our members and guests, to plan the support and services we offer to the YMCA and the community.
