Volunteering for Teenagers

Sending your teenagers to volunteer with our club is a great way to get them engaged with others. The work is like working at a retail store. There is some lifting and moving of trees, we wrap the trees and cut the butt ends of the trees, collect money and record it in our register. It is a cheerful environment and a lot of fun.

Most importantly, they work and interact with our club members, who always have their development as good citizens in mind.

We have trained hundreds of high school age kids (I was a high school volunteer as well), and I can assure you the experience is always positive. They learn to deal with the public, speak directly to living, breathing, people, handle money and record it like in a mall kiosk, etc. If there is something they are uncomfortable with, we have plenty of other things to do.

For them, we will validate or confirm their service hours in writing, and can provide references as well.

Anyone can sign up for a shift at www.tinyurl.com/wrysc - we always have club members or very long-time volunteers who have many years of experience to help.

If you have any other questions, you can call me at 617-899-6216 and I'll be happy to answer them. Thank you for your continued support!
